Spelling Homework

No more spelling units this year!  We will have a cumulative spelling test next week, but it is nothing that the students need to prepare or study for. Your child's spelling book should have come home yesterday and it can stay home.  Feel free to practice the units we did not cover over the summer.  :)

Write each spelling word by breaking it into syllables.

Example:

um/ brel/ la

Write your spelling words as word wedges.

B

Bo

Boo

Book

Classify 12 of your words into the following categories: nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.  Use a dictionary to help you.

Write each spelling word as a "wheel wagon."  Write the beginning and ending letter of each word as the wagon wheels and use the word as the wagon bed.

Example:

 cloud - /*

Make a spring art project using the weekly spelling words!  Make a flower out of construction paper and write each of the words on the petals, stem, and leaves of the flower.  I have construction paper for you to use if you want to do this activity.
