Please remember that this is just an overview. Some students may have not
have all of the items as homework, depending on what they finished at
school. The time that each student will need to complete the daily homework
will vary with their understanding and individual skills.
Every Week:
Spelling - A list is handed out in the Friday Folder. There will be a pre-
test on Monday or Tuesday and the book assignment and final test will be on
Thursday.
Journals - Every week the students will be writing journal entries.
Each entry should be written in cursive and be a minimum of one half page
long.
Religion - Family time is extra credit and should be turned in by Friday of
the week we begin the chapter. Every Tuesday there will be a religion quiz
for the materials covered the week before.
Math - Each day there should be a small book assignment (which most students
will finish in class) and a worksheet that is based on their understanding
and needs for the daily lesson. Every Friday there will be a Friday check,
which is a small quiz on what was covered during the week in class.
Reading - Each week students are to be spending a minimum of twenty minutes,
four nights a week reading appropriate, self selected reading. This should
be recorded on their reading log and handed in on Friday's with a parents
signature.
The homework is posted in class on our homework planner board, and students
are responsible for recording assignments in their student planners. We
take time at the end of each day to review the homework planner and record
information. We also review what books need to be taken home on that day.
I do not assign homework on Fridays. I view weekends as important family
time. We also work very hard during the week and need time to rest and
relax with our family and friends.
If there are any questions regarding homework, please feel free to contact
me.
