| Extra! is an academic program designed for students in grades 2 through 5
who are in need of additional academic challenge. Students are pulled out
of their regular classrooms one hour/week for six weeks to cover a specific
unit of instruction with the enrichment teacher. There are three six week
units during the school year. Some students may participate in all three,
others in one or two. Students are selected for the program based on
academic skill level and academic responsiblity, dependability.
Currently the 5th grade Extra! students are working on Math Masters material,
4th graders on a "Math Team" unit, 3rd graders on a drama unit, and 2nd
graders on a descriptive writing unit.
Homework due week of April 20:
5th grade: Decimal/Fraction/Per Cent worksheet
4th grade: Optional math worksheet - graphing
3rd grade: Memorize individual poem, highlight
parts in script, sing "Unicorn" song
2nd grade: Paragraph worksheet
