Sight Words

Sight words are words that are used frequently in reading.  They are short 
words that should be recognized without having to sound them out.  Being able 
to easily identify these words will help children gain fluency in their 
reading.  Approximately each week we will be adding 1-2 words to our word 
wall.  These words will then be clearly visible to the students as they write 
in their journals and complete other literacy activities.  To date, we have 
covered the following sight words:
I   see   like   to   am   can    you    my    the    we    are   go    it

and    on     what   do    is
