The number one way to support your child's developing literacy is to read together every day. Not only are you sharing your love for reading, you're also encouraging and modeling successful reading strategies. And most importantly, this offers you some special time to be with your kindergartener. Each month your child will take home a "Lap Reading Log." This is a simple way to record all the books you read together. At the end of each month, your child may pick his/her favorite "Lap Reading" book and write and illustrate a short report telling our class family about the story. Each "Lap Book Report" will be placed in a special spiral notebook for our kindergarteners to read again and again. Thank you for your support with this year long reading project. Happy Reading!!
