CURRENT GRADE LEVEL PROJECTS
Spring is finally here and its hard to believe that the end of another school
year is almost here.
Grades K-5 are on an Art Adventure, sponsored by the Minneapolis Institute of
Art. Trained parent volunteers discuss provided art works with the students
during their art class time each week for the entire month. It is so exciting
to watch the children grow in their understanding and reaction to various
pieces of art.
Sixth Graders are working on Egyptian Cartouche metal tooling projects. They
have enjoyed working with the metal and the results are beautiful.
Seventh Graders have learned about transforming shapes and creating
tessellations. Their ability to think outside of the box is remarkable.
Eighth Graders are working on expressing a social or political issue in art.
The themes they are working on are from the presentations they have already
completed in Religion class. They are expressing their opinions and all of
information they have researched about their various topics in interesting
and creative ways.
