Classroom Procedures & Other Info.Procedures for Entering the Classroom 1. Find your seat. 2. Put away folders and library books inside desk. 3. Make lunch choice. 4. Complete morning work 5. Make sure you have two sharpened pencils.
Procedures for Addressing the Teacher and Asking Questions 1. Do not be afraid to ask questions. 2. Use complete sentences. 3. Show respect. 4. Raise your hand to ask questions. 5. Wait your turn to talk. 6. Pay attention to other students' questions. (You might have your question answered)
Procedures for Handing in Papers 1. Turn in all homework as soon as you enter class in the morning. 2. Put your name, number, and date on all papers. 3. When appropriate, put the page number, problem/questions answered. 4. Papers not headed correctly will be trashed.
Procedures for Absent Work 1. Update your planner as soon as you enter the classroom. 2. Review your assignments due from the day or days that you were absent. If you do not understand, check with the teacher immediately. 3. For each day you are absent, you are allowed 1-2 days to complete the missed work. 4. It is your responsibility to turn in absentee work directly to the teacher without waiting for her to come to you and ask for it.
*Competed absentee work not turned in on time is considered late and will have points deducted.
Announcements/Interruptions 1. Quiet your voices. 2. Be still. 3. Respect the speaker and other listeners.
Procedures for Cooperative Groups When we work in groups we will: 1. Help each other so everyone understands what to do. 2. Make sure everyone shares an idea. 3. Speak politely to one another. 4. Be good listeners. 5. Ask each other questions before we ask the teacher. 6. Compliment one another for a good effort. 7. STAY ON TASK!
Procedures for Ending Class 1. Write all homework in your planner. **NEATLY** 2. Get out all books, folders, and necessary items you need to take home to complete homework. 3. Pick up all trash around and under your desk. 4. Return any materials used in class to their appropriate place. 5. Sit quietly until the teacher dismisses you.
Procedures for a Substitute Teacher 1. BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR! Follow all of our classroom procedures without being reminded. 2. BE FLEXIBLE! The substitute has many notes and instructions from me, but he/she will not do things exactly like me. 3. REMEMBER, the substitute is in charge and they will ask for your help if needed. 4. HAVE A PRODUCTIVE DAY! Having a substitute is a great opportunity to learn from someone new.
**Remember** You have the opportunity/privilege to make your choices, as long as you make good choices. If you fail to make good choices, I will begin to make your choices.
