I have seven years of teaching experience. I've taught grades 2, 3, 4, and
5 in both North Carolina and Oklahoma.
I am a native North Carolinian, having grown up in Thomasville, NC.
In 1992, I graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Mass
Communications and Journalism. For eight years, I worked as a television
news producer at tv stations in High Point, NC, Oklahoma City, OK, and at
WECT in Wilmington. In my news career, I had the chance to meet(very
briefly) former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Barbara Bush.
After marrying my husband, I returned to college and
completed my teaching coursework at UNCW. I'm in the process of working on
my Masters degree.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful daughter,
husband, and our lab Bellamy.
I enjoy reading, photography, gem mining in the mountains and playing at the
beach!
I am a terrfic and tenacious teacher.
I am enthusiastic, energetic, and caring.
I will choose to create a climate of mutual respect in my classroom.
I pledge to help my students become life-long learners.
I WILL NEVER, EVER GIVE UP!
