June 4: FUN DAY

First Graders will go out to the fields a little before 9:00 am.  Parents are welcome

to join us as we move from station to station.

June 5: model of Zoo Inquiry animal due

June 12: Last day of school

**June 5: This is the last day to charge in the cafeteria and all charges need to be

 paid by this date

***Please help your child succeed by helping them get enough sleep this week!

Reading- a realistic fiction story titled, “Fireflies for Nathan”

Phonic Skills: words with the ar sound, prefixes dis and re

Comprehension Skills: sequence of events

Spelling Words: hard, barn, start, farm, shark, scarf, jars, large, card, park

                   Challenge: marching

Writing- observational story about their inquiry animal telling what it eats, where it lives (habitat), and what it looks like

Math- We will assess the children on all math objectives this week – representing

numbers in various ways, reading and writing numbers, comparing umbers, estimating quantities to 100, single digit addition and subtraction, time to the hour and half-hour,

calendar questions, identifying geometric shapes, line plots, tallies, adding multiple combinations of coins to $1.00.  

Science- studying organisms and animals of the zoo
