Bits and Bytes-Ms. Nitka (February, 2009)
Congratulations to Ryan Mangano 4K and Deanna Teti 4K for contributing to our Environmental
News Board. They both received prizes for their reports and efforts. You can obtain a prize
from me as well. All you have to do is find some really interesting news pertaining to the
environment and prepare to report that news to the class. You can also get a prize by defining
the computer words below. Nobody attempted the ones below so here they are again:

February is a busy month in our computer lab. Kindergarten is working with the keyboard to
find the letters and numbers using a very cool program. They will also be keyboarding words in
the near future. First Grade has been introduced to Keyboarding using the Junior Version of
Type to Learn. They are very involved switching hands for the matching side of the keyboard.
It’s a really fun game! Our Second, Third and Fourth Grades are all working on Word
Processing. Second Grade is working with “Storybook Weaver”, Third Grade is working with Max
Write and Fourth Grade is working with Microsoft Word. After our practice sessions, they will
be given a project to use their newly acquired skills with. Hope you enjoy them when they
arrive home-I know they will work hard on them.
