Bits and Bytes-Ms. Nitka (November, 2008)
Hi everyone! Sorry you didn’t see my column in the last newsletter. I would like to say, “I’m
back!” Congratulations are in order for Deanna Teti who gave a wonderful Environmental News
report. She received a prize and the article is hanging in the lab. You too can be a part of
this “Wall of Fame.” All you have to do is find some really interesting news pertaining to the
environment and prepare to report that news to the class. You can also get a prize by defining
the computer words below. Since nobody last year attempted these, here they are again!

November is a busy month in our computer lab. Kindergarten has been introduced to Math Blasters
and is busy shooting all the garbage and sending it to the number recycler. First Grade is
almost finished working with the subtraction part of Math Blasters and will begin
our “Introduction to Keyboarding” using the Junior Version of Type to Learn. It’s a really fun
game! Our Second, Third and Fourth Grades are all using the “Intermediate” version of Type to
Learn. We will continue keyboarding till the end of November, go onto Word Processing and then
come back to Keyboarding later in the year. We are all Very Busy Campers!!!!
Well, that’s it until next month! Oh, by the way, you can always go onto my website and see new
things that I upload. The address is: http://teacherweb.com/nj/nixonelementaryschool/nitka/
Love,
Ms. Nitka
