What can I do to help my child with their reading skills?

The best way to support your child's reading is to read with your child.
Research has proven that reading or being read to is the best way to
encourage your child to read.

Furthermore, you can work on our sight words using your own made up
flashcards. Also, you can look for the words in print whether it be in
books, at the store, or on signs.

In addition, you can read the predecodable and decodable books
with your children along with other easy readers.

Why do we have Read and Discover Agendas?

This is the way we introduce the children to responsibility. Most days we
will write something (shapes, letters, numbers and eventually words). The
children are suppose to bring the agendas back the next day. I do not send
agendas on Fridays

How long do I keep a library book?

When your children bring home a library book, they can keep it until their
next library day. Your child can bring the book back anytime between our
two
library days (Days 3 and 6).

When can I have another conference?

ANYTIME! Please, if you would like to set up a time to talk with me about
your child, just call or write a note stating you would like to meet. I
want
to work with you to help ensure your child's success!

Do I have to complete the Home Links sent home for reading and math?

Completing these home school connections will only take up to 10 minutes a
night (even less most times). They are sent to keep you informed as to what
your child is responsible for knowing. As a bonus, your child will benefit
from the little extra time spent on learning the basics.
