Please remind your child to mark the log each night after his/her 15 minutes of reading. 

This week students will be reading, "The Swimming Hole." This is a short story adapted from one of the "Little House" series books. These books are perfect for fourth grade, and if your child enjoys the short story this week, please encourage him/her to read the entire series.The skill emphasis will be identifying the theme of a story. This is a difficult skill as it requires higher level thinking. We will spend a significant amount of time working on this skill. The story quiz is Thursday. The students will have listened to C.D. of the story, read the story aloud in class, and hopefully reviewed it at home in preparation of the story quiz.
