Classroom Expect.

					               
                      School wide  Expectations
*	Be Positive!
*	Have RESPECT for all others and their belongings.
*	Be prepared and on time for class.
*	Follow Instructions.
*	Do your best to be a successful learner.

                                  Classroom Expectations  

                Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior

1st Offense:	Verbal warning.
2nd Offense:	Student completes a self-evaluation form and conferences 
with teacher before re-entering the classroom.
3rd Offense:	Student completes a self-evaluation which requires a 
parent signature. Parent will be contacted. A conference with the parent, 
student, and teacher may be necessary before the student is allowed 
back in class.
4th Offense:	Student receives a detention notice or a referral to the office 
depending on the seriousness of the offense. Parents will be contacted.
                       
	        
                         Self-Directed Learner Behaviors
                        

 Arrives on time ~ Has materials  ~  Follows direction and stays on  task     

 Work is turned in	  ~  Participates 	 ~  Values neatness and organization  

          Uses good listening skills     ~ Values accuracy and precision
                       
         Goes right to work     ~  Gives guest teachers every advantage
                        
         Avoids impulsiveness     ~  Shows respect for other learners 
                       
           Demonstrates a positive attitude    ~  Works well in groups
                        
            Refrains from talking during instructions and transitions


				
				                              Specific Classroom Expectations

                         Entering the Classroom:

         * Enter the room quietly and calmly.

         * Come in respectfully or try again.

         * Check the front white board, turn in homework and record      
            assignment.

         * Class starts when the bell rings or I begin the lesson.

         * Tardy: if not seated when I say " you are seated or tardy" in 		
            30 secs. 

	       * SDL points for being on task when class starts.


                            Class begins:

         * Agenda on the board for days activities and lesson(s).

         * If the class is quiet when class begins, students earn a point.

         * SDL participation points for following instructions.

         * Review agenda and answer questions.

 
                     Transitions:

         * Follow directions and move quietly.

         *  Earn a minute of free time for a quiet transition.

         * SDL points for being cooperative while changing activities.


                        Working Independently:

         * Talk in big whispers, remain seated, and raise your hand for help.

         * Formal response answers expected for all written work unless 		
            directed otherwise.

         * If daily work is completed please work on extensions to the 		
            activity.

         * SDL participation points for following instructions/		
		         directions.

         * Repeat, restate expectations: remain quiet, raise your hand for 	
            help, and stay in your seat.

                          Group Work:

         * Follow group guidelines: Safety, respect others, quiet voices,
           encourage everyone, polite disagreement, positive interactions,       
		         everyone has a specific task.

         * No put downs and hands to self.

         * SDL points for following group guidelines, lose points for not       
             being  cooperative.

         * Peer evaluation is part of group grade.


                      Asking for Help:

         * Silent hands get serviced first and please remain seated.

         * Work on another activity if waiting for teacher help.

         *  SDL points for  being  cooperative.

                    Completing and Returning Work:

         * See assignment/activities board, use assignment sheet to record 	          
             during attendance.

         * Work due at the beginning of class goes into the in basket.

         * Assignments and due dates are posted on the overhead     
             projector.

         *  Assignemt sheets are helpful to record due dates and deadlines.

         * Completed assignment sheets turned in for extra credit.

         * Grade printouts every 3, 6, and 9 weeks. Missing tasks reports at 	
            weeks 2, 5, and 7.

                     Taking Care of Personal Needs:

         * Sign out in the back of the room with time recorded on it.

         * Try to use passing time for personal needs.

         * Please come and go quietly.

         * Need green teacher pass to leave the locker bay area.
