Silver Sabre

The Silver Sabre was first published in 1971, and has enjoyed a long tradition of providing news, features, and entertainment for its readers through the years.

At Brazoswood High, the newspaper publication is a tool  used for teaching students the newspaper business in a newsroom lab setting.  Students have an opportunity to master the skills of researching, interviewing, writing, layout and design, editing, photography, and the business aspects of running a newspaper.  Students are chosen for leadership roles based on their aptitude and their willingness to learn how to be a leader in newspaper production.

Distribution days are announced on Period 2 announcements.

Distribution Locations: Teacher mailboxes; Libraries; Vocational Building; Cafeteria

There is no cost for the paper to patrons.  Staff members fund the publication by selling ads.
