SUZANNE DELL- CMS Director
Suzanne Dell is beginning her second year as director of bands at CMS and
her fifth year of teaching middle school band. She received her
Bachelor of Music degree from University of North Texas in 2001.
Mrs. Dell is director of the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. She also
teaches the Jazz Bands and Percussion Ensembles at CMS, as well as Beginning
Horn, Trombone, and Low Brass at Durham Intermediate.
Mrs. Dell is married and has a 5 year old son named Jacob, who will be
starting Kindergarten at Johnson Elementary this fall. . In her spare
time, Mrs. Dell enjoys running, cooking, and hanging out with her family.
SARA GUSTAFSON- CMS Assistant Director
Ms. Gustafson is beginning her second year of teaching in Carroll ISD after
graduating from the University of North Texas last year with a degree in
music education. She teaches beginning oboes, bassoons, and clarinets at
Eubanks Intermediate, the Symphonic Band at Carroll Middle School, and
assists with the marching band at the high school. Ms. Gustafson is an oboe
player and in her free time enjoys playing duets with any willing
instrumentalist, as well as spending time with friends and family.
Our primary responsibility is to provide students with fundamental
instruction in the aspects of instrumental music. At the same time, it is
our hope that students acquire a lifelong love and appreciation for music.
Through their participation in band, students will receive the training
necessary to be successful in music while also being prepared for situations
and responsibilities they will encounter in other classes and in life. The
band program consists of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band
as well as Jazz Band and Percussion Ensembles that will meet during class
time or before/after school.
