HOME ECONOMICS I
We are working on completing the Pillow Project and putting the final
finishing touches on it. In addition, we have also learned five Seam
Finishes, and each student is required to complete five corresponding
samples. The Pillow Project is their final grade.
I believe the Sewing Unit has been a bit off a surprise to many. It’s
always good to see them hurry to class, claim a sewing machine, and wonder
where the time has gone when it’s time to clean up and go to their next
class.
Clean up is as much a subject as any, and it remains a challenge.
Overall, the semester has been great! I have truly enjoyed getting to know
your kids, and I am looking forward to having several again next semester
for Home Ec.II !
Make sure your student has brought their pillow home to use and enjoy. We
sure do not need 120 pillows left behind in the classroom! Eeks!!!
HOME ECONOMICS II
Pajama Pants are finished! The kids have all done a really fabulous job on
them, and they are fit for a lot of use at home! I still get reports of
former students about their pajama pants. Just recently two girls stopped
by and when they saw some of the pajamas, they commented how theirs are
starting to fade from so much wear! These pants are very roomy and
comfortable. HINT: You might want some for yourselves!
This class of Home Ec.II has been a close knit group of kids, and I have
been the lucky one to have had a semester teaching them!
Have a delightful week!
