| Grades DO count! By taking some time each day to do a few simple things
you will see improvement in your grades, which will make you-and your
parents-a lot happier:
1. Use your planner EVERY day
*Sometime during each class period, write down the assignment for he
day.
*If you do not have an assignment in the class, write "no assignment
in the space for that class.
*If you have a test or a big assignment coming up in a few days or
weeks, write down when it is due, with reminders to start working
and/or studying for the test/assignment on specific days.
*Check your planner before you go home to make sure you have the
books and/or notes you need to complete homework.
2. Decide on a set study time and stick to it ! It is usually
easier to go home, have a snack and a short break and then start
homework immediately because then you have the evening ahead of you
to watch T.V., talk on the phone, or spend time relaxing with family.
Free help with homework from the GSD Homework Hotline-Monday through
Thursday from 5-8 p.m. @ 964-7523.
3. Check your progress in your classes by going to www.granite.k12.ut.us
Go to "Progress Reports", put in your student number and the password
you have chosen. A page with your present grade in each class will
come up. Click on any individual course and a page will come up with
a listing of all assignments. Talk with your teachers about any
questions or concerns regarding your grades.
4. Talk with your parents and/or teacher for extra help on
assignments.
Your teachers and parents can't possibly know that you need help
unless you ask.
