I hope every Wasatch student is excited about returning to school in a new,
beautiful building! Since we have been given the opportunity to assemble in a
new, beautiful school I would like to ask for the support of students and
parents in following the rules that there be no eating or chewing gum in my
classroom. Also, since our new rooms are carpeted, please do not bring
beverages to class--unless the drink is WATER in a clear container. I know I
get quite thirsty and so I will have my own water bottle each day!

Basic supplies for my class include #2 pencils, standard lined writing paper
and a STENO notebook (these can be purchased at Albertsons on 2300 E. 3900
So. or most K Mart or Rite Aid stores). Please do NOT buy the expensive
STENO as they range in price from $1.00-$4.00--GET THE CHEAP ONE!!!!!
Students should come to class each day prepared with pencil and paper--ready
to work!

CLASSROOM SETS of grammar books, literature books and novels will be used in
my classroom--IF students are absent, I will check books out to students--IF
you feel a need to have a book in your home, please make arrangements with me.

STUDENT AGENDAS should keep parents aware of daily assignments in my class.
Students are expected to copy each day's study/assignment from the board in
order to keep parents aware of study focus. PARENTS, PLEASE CHECK "HOMEWORK
PAGE" ON A REGULAR BASIS TO KEEP UP ON WHAT WE ARE STUDYING IN CLASS,
ASSIGNMENTS, TESTS AND OCCASIONAL PROJECTS YOUR STUDENT MAY BE INVOLVED IN.

STUDENTS SHOULD KEEP ALL RETURNED ASSIGNMENTS UNTIL EACH TERM'S GRADES HAVE
BEEN PRINTED IN CASE OF A POSSIBLE DISCREPANCY.

Class Rules: 1. Be seated on time ready to work
                2. Be responsible for your OWN supplies daily
                3. Be respectful and courteous to others

Discipline: Students who cause disruption in class will be
verbally reminded to get themselves in line only once, on a
second offense the student will be asked to wait in the hall
until we can discuss the cause of disruption. Students who
frequently find themselves in the hall will be assigned an 8th
period and I will call home to discuss the problem with parents
              to gain insight for resolution.

Tardies will result in time assigned after school. Class
disruption and/or tardies will greatly affect citizenship.

Grading Policy: As per basic Granite School District guidelines:

I DO NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK. If students are absent, they should
bring the completed assignment to class upon their return. If
they were absent for the assignment given, they have one day
to get the assignment completed and turned in.

EXTRA CREDIT: A small amount of extra credit will be offered throughout each
               term.
