#3. S - V- PN= Mother is a great cook.
Subject is "mother" and the PN is "cook"
the predicate noun is a word that comes
AFTER the verb(s) of the sentence but it
means the same thing as the subject word.
The separating line between the verb(s)
and the PN is slanted back toward the
subject to indicate the relationship of
the PN to the subject. The PN RENAMES
the subject!!
#4. S - V - PAdj.= Our new car is white.
Subject is "car" and the PAdj is "white".
The Predicate Adj. is an adjective that
comes AFTER the verb but it DESCRIBES the
subject word--therefore you slant the line
back toward the subject to show the relation-
ship between the two words!!
