Dear
Students,
I
have arrived and I am really enjoying myself here in Wisconsin!
I celebrated Christmas and New Years with Mrs. Nash and her family. On
Christmas Day, we went to Grandma's house for dinner. I'll send you some of
the pictures of me looking at the Christmas Tree. New Year's Day I sat outside
and enjoyed the sunshine. It was cold, but no snow! On January 3rd Mrs. Nash
took me to school. I was nervous, but the kids were so kind to me! Everyone
loves me. I sit on their desk and I go to all of their special area classes.
So far I have gone to Art Class, Music Class, Gym Class, and Science Lab
Class. All of the teachers seem to love me just as much as Mrs. Nash does.
Wow!!!! Cumberlandis
really cool! On Tuesday, Jan. 4th I went home with Tyler.
I helped him with his homework, and then we played with his Legos. After that
we ate the most delicious Chili dinner. Tyler's
mom is a great cook! We went to sleep soon after playing. Tylerlet
me sleep on a little pillow! It was soooooo comfortable!

Dear
Friends,
Wow!!!!!
I sure have been busy here at Cumberland
School!
Today we had a Special Birthday Party for Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. We
made a Dr. King Timeline highlighting all of the important events in his life.
Mrs. Nash put the Timeline on the wall outside the classroom door. Many people
have stopped to read it. We drew some FANTASTIC PICTURES for the timeline. I
have been staying at a different person's house every single night, and even
on the weekend. Whitefish
Bayis
full of some very loving people. Emily made a blue-jean vest for me. It is
sooo cute and comfortable. Eric bought me a tiny baseball shirt that fits just
right! I played Jenga when I spent the night with Sadie. Chas helped me read
some books, and Alex let me play his Playstation. I went to dinner with a lot
of the kids! Matt let me play with his Gameboy, and Eric let me go to church
with him! I loved Han Na's piano. I helped Casey cut his dad's hair....it
didn't take long ...if you know what I mean!! Ha Ha! Margaret let me wear some
of her hats, and she made a real cute name tag for me! I love the Macaroni
her family makes. Jenny's dad is funny. He wrestled me and put me in a "Tickle
Trap." Her family taught me how to play Jumanji. Oh...I almost forgot. We have
a lot of pictures to place in the journal. Also, I learned how to play the
Violin and the African Drum. We are learning about sound energy, so Mrs. Nash
had some people show us how the violin and the drum produce sound. Well, as
you can see, I am VERY BUSY. I never knew that 2nd graders learned so much. I
haven't even told you half of what I have been doing here. I will write again
as soon as I get the time!
Love
and kisses from a VERY tired but boy am I having FUN,
Webster
P.S.
Mrs. Nash calls me her cute little ?Fuzzy Wuzzy Webby Bear?
P.S.S.
I like her a lot too!

Dear
Friends,
I
have to leave Wisconsin
tomorrow,
and I am so sad! I have had so much fun here! I need to tell you about last
week before I forget. I learned about prisms and pyramids, polygons, and
polyhedrons, phew! Geometry is exciting. We had a Math and Science test and I
learned how to use a computer program called Storybook Weaver! Devin taught me
how to read a thermometer when we learned about temperature. My lens popped
out, so her dad glued it back in for me. When I went home with Erika, she took
me to the movies and we saw Galaxy Quest. After that we went to the library,
and checked out a couple of books. I just love reading with second graders.
Julia took me to an Orchestra concert and I learned how to play the viola!
Wow!!!! She also gave me some foot pajamas, and let me sleep in a cute little
doll crib! I even had MY OWN TEDDY BEAR TO CUDDLE WITH :-) When I went over
to Ana's house, she taught me how to play Mancala. Wow, that is really a brain
teaser! Ana and I read one of the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books. It was sooooo
funny. Jake taught me how to play the piano and blow the shofar! It was great!
He found some great clothes for me and some new glasses. My lens kept falling
out, even after being glued several times by several parents (they are sooo
nice here). Jake's mom gave me a new pair of glasses and packed my old ones in
my blankie for safe keeping until I return to you. Well, tomorrow (Friday,
Jan. 28th) is my last day! (sob, sob, tear, tear)

Dear
Friends,
Today is a sad day because I had to leave wonderful Wisconsin.
Mrs. Nash and I cried and hugged each other as we said our good-byes! I had
such a wonderful time at Cumberland
School in Whitefish Bay
Wisconsin! The boys and girls gave me a surprise Farewell Party,
and they called it a "Bear-well" party. We heard a Teddy Bear story, they sang
"For He's A Jolly Good Fellow," we did counting, graphing, & problem solving
activities using Teddy Bear Counters, and we ate some delicious Teddy Grahams!
The whole day was devoted to me and Teddy Bear activities. You should see the
cute Fare Well (Bear Well) Cards that the boys and girls made for me. I am
going to keep them forever! Mrs. Nash reminded me that I should not be sad
because I am a traveling bear whose purpose is to share love and joy across the
USA
and
other countries! Well, judging by the reaction of the second graders and their
parents, I must have done a good job! Sooooooooooo off I go to the Great State
of New York! I will write to you as soon as I can!
Love,
Webster
